The Contract Manufacturing Network is developing a series of specialized websites and ordering platforms designed to support specific retail channels and in-store sub-sections. These platforms enhance connectivity between manufacturers, distributors, and retailers, streamlining how new and emerging consumer brands enter key categories. A major focus is on the Service Deli and related sales formats—including in-store delis, grab-and-go sections, and specialty retail areas like cheese, charcuterie, and prepared foods—creating a cohesive digital and operational ecosystem that strengthens visibility, access, and sales performance across these high-traffic fresh food departments.

The Cheese Shops Network is a new vertical founded by the Contract Manufacturing Alliance to support its Service Delis incubation system. It connects artisan and specialty cheese/charcuterie retailers with start-up and emerging brands, offering co-man matchmaking, packaging and pricing guidance, and turnkey programs for cut-and-wrap, grab-and-go, boards, and seasonal gifting. The network plugs into CMA’s national footprint and buyer relationships across supermarkets, natural/specialty, and hospitality, creating a faster path from pilot to repeat deli placement. A Cheese Shop/Charcuterie Shop is a specialty retailer focused on artisan cheeses (domestic and imported), cured meats, accompaniments (crackers, olives, jams, honey), and made-to-order boards; many also run cut-to-order counters, classes, tastings, and e-commerce. While the U.S. lacks a single official census, third-party market lists suggest ~3900+ dedicated cheese shops nationwide, indicating a sizable, distributed channel; within the American Cheese Society, retailers represent ~16% of ~2,300 members, underscoring the breadth of specialty retail activity even beyond standalone shops.
